3 Reasons Le Mas Candille Is An Ideal Location for Golfers

Reason #1: Play at the Royal Mougins Golf Club, one of Europe’s best golf courses

Travelling golfers have flocked to the Royal Mougins Golf Club, known as one of the best places to play in continental Europe. The 6,500-yard course requires that female golfers have lower than a 32 handicap with the men need under a 28 to play the 18-hole layout.

If you are a looking for a pre-round tune-up, then the Royal Mougins has a Prime Golf Academy on the grounds. The Academy offers the latest golf technology with three sophisticated machines: the Trackman, Smart2move and Sam PuttLab. These give the on-site coaches all the necessary data to help you build a better golf swing.

Once you hit the links at Royal Mougins, you’ll immediately be treated to immaculate fairways and perfectly rolled greens. Make sure you bring a complete set of clubs because you’ll need all of them as you play the difficult layout.

From the championship tees, Royal Mougins demands precision and a balancing act of risk versus reward golf. Expect the lay up to be the smart play on some of the longer holes, but be ready to grab the driver when you need to post a low score and save your round.

Reason #2: Be Challenged by Terre Blanche Golf Course, With Europe’s Most Exciting Hole

Another course in the area that is beloved by locals and tourists alike, is  Terre Blanche Golf Club. Located 35 minutes west of the Le Mas Candille,  Terre Blanche has two courses that are among the best France has to offer for travelling golfers.

If you are a low-handicapper, then the first course at Terre Blanche, Le Château, runs over 7,200 yards from the tips with a slope rating that sits around 150 and offers one heck of a golfing challenge. We recommend coming with solid golf shoes to make sure you’re able to leverage remain in shape throughout the slope.

With elevated tees that present drives through tight tree-lined chutes, Le Château never stops demanding accuracy and length from your shots, regardless of where you are on the course.

The best hole on Le Château is the par-5 11th, an adventurous design where the golfer has to navigate rocks and water to go for an eagle. It is one of the most exciting holes to play in all of Europe.

The second course at the club, Le Riou, may not get the accolades of Château, but the course is every bit as pristine and enjoyable as its brother. Measuring around 6,600 yards, Le Riou is a thinking golfer’s course with plenty of opportunities to attack but just as many obstacles to overcome and avoid.

Reason #3: Hit Bunker Shots at Roquebrune’s Golf Club

Finally, the Golf de Roquebrune is a little farther away than the Terre Blanche. Roughly 45 minutes by car, it offers up five-star golf that is definitely worth the trip. Known as one of the jewels of the French Riviera, the Roquebrune layout uses water and sand to craft an exciting round of golf.

Measuring around 6,300 yards, the Roquebrune isn’t very long, but what it lacks in length, it makes up with craftiness and strategy. Golfers will find a terrific challenge ahead as they navigate through the entertaining layout.

If you are looking for a hole that brings excitement, then the par-4 17th hole with the extreme right dogleg offers a gamble where the golfer can try to drive the green in one or play it safe for an easy birdie.

With outstanding amenities, the Le Mas Candille is an excellent spot for bringing the family, enjoying a wonderful romantic getaway, or experiencing some of the best golf France has to offer.
