We believe that the joie de vivre of Le Mas Candille should extend beyond our garden gates. As well as helping our guests achieve a greater sense of wellbeing through stays at our hotel, spa and restaurant, we've also taken steps to ensure a positive impact on the Côte d’Azur – and the world – as a whole.
As part of our sustainable development policy, we commit to continue actively working towards being both socially and environmentally responsible.
By implementing a number of actions and initiatives, Le Mas Candille aims to respect the environment and have a positive impact on society. Another thing to feel good about when you stay with us.
Since 2019, Le Mas Candille has made new commitments by implementing concrete and quantifiable actions. In order to achieve the objectives set, it actively works in collaboration with local actors specialising in sustainable development.
Every day we take actions to fully contribute to sustainable development. Here are a few of the most major ones:
The implementation of recycling
From the clamour of our kitchens to the bustling administrative offices, each part of Le Mas Candille follows a "best practice" for recycling. Different types of waste are separated and sent for processing.
The installation of a composter
The bio-waste of our restaurants’ preparations (Le Bistrot du Mas and Le Candille) will be recovered in order to be placed in a composter. This compost will be used by our gardener for planting within our grounds, nourishing our flowers and herbs. As these will later be used in our kitchens, it truly completes the circle of life.
The recovery of soaps from the hotel
Working with the Unisoap association, we can recover waste bar soap for recycling and repackaging. This is then redistributed to people in difficulty for humanitarian purposes.
The recovery of cigarette butts
The selective recovery of cigarette butts allows less pollution because they will not end up incinerated. – The Mé-Go company, which specialises in cleaning up and transforming cigarette butts into raw materials for manufacturing, helps us to facilitate this selective recovery of cigarette butts.
Beehives in the park
Soon we will be installing beehives in the grounds of Le Mas Candille. This ecological gesture gives home to pollinators, and also allows us to offer our own honey for drizzling over breakfast or to include as an ingredient in our restaurant dishes.
As part of our culinary philosophy, Le Mas Candille sources produce from local producers with respect for the seasons . Our cuisine follows what's available locally, while our wide selection of organic wines show great respect for nature.
