Le Mas Candille is a luxury 5-star hotel offering upscale rooms and suites, two restaurants, a spa, three pools, and two Jacuzzis. It is located in Mougins village, between Cannes and Nice and surrounded by a 10-acre park. We were so lucky to welcome Thibault Modelia to the hotel last month – read his Le Mas Candille review below and the original here!

We received a warm, caring welcome by smiling staff upon our arrival. After taking our bags and parking our car, we were offered a welcome drink before discovering our beautiful room with a magnificent view, which I will let you discover below.

Relaxation area

Well settled, affairs in order, we decided to discover the place by strolling through Le Mas Candille’s grounds. We stopped at first in the entertainment area of the hotel with a ping pong table and a pétanque court.

Pools

The Mas Candille has three swimming pools, each with its own atmosphere. The first, a big swimming pool with a splendid view onto a beautiful landscape, especially with the sunset just opposite. You may know my “love” for that moment of the day and those fairy colours. There is even a restaurant where you can have lunch by the pool while also enjoying the view. A Jacuzzi is also available below, not bad at all …

A second pool is available, which is more family-friendly. Surrounded by greenery and with several sunbeds and two lounge chairs, you can sit back and enjoy the sun. There are often children or teens there, but it is for everyone. I did not take the time to take pictures so I will let you discover this by yourself.

Finally, the last pool, the Spa pool, is available for hotel guests and those who enjoy the Spa after their treatments. It really is nice and relaxing. Between you and me, it’s my favourite: I felt like I was in a cocoon. It is heated and has water jets, so you can swim against the current. There is also a gym and fitness area with a breathtaking view of the landscape, the ideal place to get your sweat on. To top it off, a Jacuzzi is also available. Find all this in my pictures below.

The restaurants

Le Mas Candille has a superb Michelin-starred restaurant, Le Candille, led by chef Xavier Burelle. This intimate restaurant is renowned for its tasty menus and seasonal ingredients, a real asset to the Le Mas Candille boutique experience. Enjoy a unique dining experience in a wonderful restaurant in Mougins overlooking the rolling hills of Grasse.

I mentioned it above but you can also eat at the poolside restaurant La Pergola, a wonderful summer kitchen by the pool in high season. A spectacular view adds the perfect finishing touch to a delicious Mediterranean-inspired menu.

Tea Time with a view

As the owners are British, they naturally offer the appropriate ritual for our greatest pleasure: Afternoon Tea. This allows the two cultures to come together carefully by the Pastry Chef, Olivier Roth. They offer a fine selection of Palais des Thés teas, Nespresso coffees and a glass of Louis Roederer champagne. Of course, gourmets can enjoy salty canapés and sweets.

The Spa

Let’s not forget a very important moment to relax and rejuvenate. For there is nothing better than to be massaged by the expert hands of a masseuse. For my part, I chose a full facial for the first time and I can assure you that it does the greatest good. All their products are by ESPA.

As you can probably tell, we had a great weekend. The setting is idyllic, peaceful, and with a magnificent view, especially at sunset. I highly recommend Le Mas Candille for a weekend away or longer, and do not hesitate to tag me if you stay there!
