A Logistical Nightmare?

Who hasn’t dreamed about planning the perfect group holiday with their friends, and then abandoned it because the organization got the better of them? I think we’re all guilty of optimistically discussing a future trip and dropping it once the planning got tough.

A group holiday can be an unforgettable experience, and definitely not one you should miss out on because of logistics. With this blog, we aim to get you up on your feet and planning the perfect group trip. Hassle-free and fun only!

Responsabilté sociétale

When it comes to planning a group trip, there are a lot of factors that go into the preparation equation. First of all, good communication is key. Where to go, how to get there, how much to spend there, and what to do once you get there are some of the biggest questions. The pros of travelling with a group of people can tend to knock up against the cons – how to please everybody? Knowing everyone’s preferences by keeping up with group communication is essential.

Are you worried that one friend will want a chilled, laid-back pool holiday, while another is seeking adventure? And maybe one is willing to spend big money to enjoy themselves, while another’s purse strings are a bit tighter?

Let’s discuss how to resolve all of these problems and more when you’re looking at planning a group holiday to Le Mas Candille!

Personal Preferences – Group Holiday Timings

One of the first roadblocks you may run into when planning a group holiday is the timing of a trip. If you’re looking to travel to Le Mas Candille, when is the best time for everyone to go? You want to make sure everyone can make it, so you may have to work around schedules. That’s okay! Again, communication is key.

If you land on several options that work for everybody, how to trim them down to one? That’s where our insight comes in. Le Mas Candille’s high season is June to September, and the busiest times of the year in the region are July and August.

Some members of your group may prefer the high season. The benefits of this timing is the number of flights going to and from Nice, our nearest international airport, the volume of activities and regional attractions that are available, and of course, the excellent weather during this time of year.

However, others in your group may prefer to avoid the high season. Some may want to visit Le Mas Candille in springtime, to take advantage of local festivities such as the Menton Lemon Festival(read more about this here), the Cannes Film Festival(have a peek at the goings-on in this blog), and to take advantage of the more temperate climate. Still, others might prefer the autumn as a time to visit, to avoid the crowds and enjoy a quieter trip.

Visit Le Mas Candille in September for a Rounded Trip

So, how to satisfy the whole group?

To keep everyone happy, Le Mas Candille recommends booking a group holiday in September. As this is towards the end of the high season, the restaurants are still open and the activities still available. However, the crowds are significantly less!

What’s more, September in the south of France is still delightfully warm. Definitely beach-going temperature, but you won’t be scorched by temperatures over 35 degrees! A perfect time for a group holiday.

What Kind of Holiday? Finding the Middle Ground Between an Active and Passive Break

In every friend group, there will be disparities between the type of holiday everybody prefers. While some would be perfectly happy lounging by the pool for three weeks’ straight, others prefer an active, adventure-seeking and energetic break.

The way of getting around this issue when planning a group holiday is to find the perfect place to spend time. Ideally, somewhere peaceful, yet centrally-located, with access to activities while remaining a calm and laid-back environment.

This is where Le Mas Candille comes into the picture…

Le Mas Candille: A Haven of Peace and a Centre of Cultural Activity

Le Mas Candille is a veritable haven of peace. Acres of the natural environment, stunning views of Grasse and the pre-Alps, tranquillity and calm are only some of the hotel’s many notable features. With the award-winning ESPA Spa Candille and the Bistrot du Mas restaurant on the grounds, when you arrive at Le Mas Candille, you’re instantly relaxed.

Our three pools are perfect for lounging, and our terraces and sun-dappled grounds are ideal for endless days enjoying the warmth of the sun and the delicious cocktails served by our staff.

However, Le Mas Candille is also an excellent spot for those seeking an active holiday. Only a 15-minute drive from Cannes and the beach, water sports are a short drive away! For a calmer yet still active day, head to Antibes for a walking tour around the old town. Mougins is also only an hour from the Gorges du Verdon, a stunning nature hallmark of Provence, where canyoning and kayaking reign supreme.  And for thrill-seekers, check out the Tyrolienne de la Colmiane, for one of the longest zip wires in Europe! Read this blog for more information on the surrounding areas.

And for those interested in a cultural trip, Mougins itself is at the heart of the region’s historical and artistic patrimony. Read our blog here on things to do in Mougins, and this blog to discover cultural outings and activities just a short trip from the hotel.
