Time for Christmas Shopping!
Yes, we know, it’s still November, but in Le Mas Candille’s opinion, this is the perfect time to start looking forward to Christmas!
Although we might wait until December to get the decorations out…
…the Christmas shopping can start now!
Buying gifts for friends, family and loved ones is, for many, the highlight of the Christmas and holiday season. For many cultures and families in France, Christmas is one of the few times of year when everyone takes a break and spends quality time together. Adding gifts to the mix makes the whole thing that much more special!
Even though Christmas isn’t celebrated by all, the festivities and cheerful atmosphere are for everyone.
Christmas on the Côte d’Azur
Christmas on the Côte d’Azur is a truly spectacular sight. Every town, beach, restaurant and road is lit up for the occasion and you’ll have a hard time finding even a roundabout that isn’t festooned with a large Christmas tree!
Not to mention, Le Mas Candille gets kitted out for the occasion as well. From Christmas trees and decorations to festive food and drink, we have it all!
While the French Riviera has a strong reputation as a top summertime destination, it’s also a great place to be in the winter-time. There’s so much going on, including Christmas markets and winter concerts.
What’s more, winter visitors enjoy the stunning view of the Cannes or Nice bays with the backdrop of the snowy Alpes. With a bright blue sky, of course!
Are You Ready for Christmas and the Holidays?
The holidays are beloved by all, however, they involve some serious preparations. Christmas most of all!
While decorations, food, drinks and much else can be left until quite late in the month, gifts are on thing which is better to get the jump on. You don’t want to wait until the 20th of December to buy the perfect gift for your mum, only to find out it’s sold out!
Where Can I Go Christmas Shopping on the French Riviera?
The French Riviera is an ideal location for buying all of your Christmas gifts. Whether you’re looking for something fairly mainstream, such as branded clothes, something special from the region, a memorable experience, or something particularly Christmassy, we’ve got it all.
Let’s take a look at some of the excellent options you have for buying your Christmas gifts on the French Riviera.
Option 1: Brands, Brands, Brands
Have you got a picture in your mind of the perfect gift for a loved one? Would your dad just love that winter coat from Paul Brown? Would your friend be thrilled at being gifted Kurt the latest Kurt Geiger boots? And would your children love that board game they keep seeing advertised on TV?
If so, you’re in luck. There are few places that come to mind before “the Riviera” when thinking of shopping hotspots, and this includes Christmas shopping. If you’re staying on the Côte d’Azur, you’ll have no problem locating the brands and gifts you need in time for Christmas and the holidays.
When you’re based at Le Mas Candille in Mougins, you’re not too far from anywhere. Cannes is an ideal shopping location: only 15 minutes from Mougins by car or bus, its gorgeous streets are lined with all kinds of brands, from the haute couture along the Croisette by the sea, to the major international sellers, such as Zara and Mango, on the Rue d’Antibes.
Antibes, Nice and Monte-Carlo have similar set-ups.
However, if you would rather head to a mall, then you need to visit Polygone Rivera near Juan-les-Pins. Only 20 minutes from Mougins by car, Polygone Riviera is a brand new, elegant outdoor shopping mall with a full range of brands and a wide selection of restaurants for when all that walking stirs your appetite.
Option 2: The Christmas Market Scene
If you’re unsure of what to gift your loved ones and are looking for something a touch more seasonal, then Christmas shopping at the holiday markets is for you.
France, just like its neighbour Germany, is renowned for its festive Christmas markets. The set-up of the French Riviera makes it an ideal location for Christmas markets as the string of coast-side medieval villages accommodate the holiday spirit in beautiful settings.
Antibes, Cannes, Mougins, Nice, and Valbonne all host exceptional so-called “Christmas villages” from December to January. While the specific dates differ and have yet to be released, these will be announced soon and guests can ask Le Mas Candille’s in-the-know reception team for details as the month approaches!
The Christmas markets are a great place for some Christmas gift shopping as they often feature locally-sourced products. If you’re looking for something one of a kind and responsibly produced, you’ll find it at the Christmas market.
Christmas markets are also excellent stops for those looking for a gift specially from the region. For those looking for a touch of the Provençal in their gifts, such as glass from Biôt, rose perfume from Grasse, or some delicious regional wine, look no further!
What’s more, for those looking for gifts for children, these stands often have an incredible array of toys and children’s wear.
Also, the hot chocolate is to die for!
Option 3: Gift an Unforgettable Experience
There are many different kinds of gifts for Christmas shopping and endless options to choose from. However, while some have their eye on a specific item, others prefer to share an experience as their gift.
For those looking to gift their loved one some quality time, some self-care, or a delicious dining experience, Le Mas Candille can help you choose the perfect “experience gift”.
